We temporarily stopped quarrying in March 2018 while we waited for the Electricity pylons in the centre of the quarrying area to get relocated. Ethekwini Electricity (owners of the larger northern pylon) & Eskom (owners of the smaller southern pylon) have agreed that we reduce the level of the future platform for the pylons to 410m above MSL.
This has given us at least 300 thousand cubic metres of good gravel to quarry. We re-opened our operation in January 2022 and are busy supplying the greater Durban area.
